     Patrick F. Mize and Philip H. Fincher started the firm of Mize & Fincher, PLLC in October of 2017.  Mize & Fincher, PLLC is a boutique firm that focuses exclusively on estate planning, probate administration, and trust administration.  Patrick has extensive experience in all forms of probate, including those involving international non-resident decedents.  

 

     Patrick is a graduate of the Fredrick M. Supper Honors Program at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he received his B.A. in Communications.  Patrick received his J.D. from the University of Florida.   

     Patrick has been a Member of the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar ("Section") since 2014.  An active member of the Florida Bar, Patrick is a member of the Section's Probate Law and Procedure and Guardianship and Power of Attorney Committees.  As part of his service to the Probate Law and Procedure Committee, Patrick Chaired a Subcommittee tasked with studying Florida Statute Section 731.106.  Based on a proposed statutory amendment from the Subcommittee, the Section proposed legislation to clarify the governing law for dispositions of real estate in Florida.  That proposal was enacted in 2016 as new Florida Statute Section 731.1055.

     Patrick was the Chair of the Trusts & Estates Section of the Collier County Bar Association for the 2014-2015 bar year and the President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Collier County Bar Association for the 2016 – 2017 bar year.

     Philip’s professional career began in Northwest Arkansas after graduating from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in financial management.  After acquiring his CPA license, he practiced for a midwestern regional accounting firm and gained corporate experience with a company specializing in retirement community developments. Philip earned his Juris Doctor, with Honors, from the University of Arkansas School of Law and a Master of Laws in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law.  He subsequently worked as a trust and estates attorney in an established firm before being recruited into the financial services industry as Vice-President for wealth transfer strategies.  His professional knowledge was further leveraged and developed through ownership and management of a private family business in Naples. These proficiencies were skillfully employed in structuring the framework of Mize and Fincher, PLLC.  As an active member of the Florida Bar Association, Philip was appointed by the organization’s president-elect (in 2019) to serve a three-year term on the Florida Bar Probate Rules Committee.

 

     Philip has been married to his wife, Stephanie, for 33 years and they have four adult children. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor running with his wife and time away together.

ArienneValencia

     Arienne Valencia is Mize & Fincher, PLLC’s inaugural Resident at Law.

     Arienne graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Minor in History.

 

     In 2017, Arienne received her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law with a Certificate of Concentration in Elder Law and was admitted to the Florida Bar. While in law school, Arienne volunteered for the National Conference on Special Needs Planning and Special Needs Trusts, Wills for Warriors program and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. She also served as a legal intern for the 13th Judicial Circuit’s Probate, Guardianship, Trust and Mental Health Division.

 

     In her spare time, Arienne enjoys snorkeling, attending concerts, and trying new recipes.
